How much money should i take to thailand (phuket) for five days?

I’m leaving for Thailand tomorrow with my partner and just wondering how much money i should have on me for the 5 days? Flights and accomodation are already paid for and we have breaky included so its just a matter of spending money. We are not planning on doing activities galore, but on a rough guide, how much do you think i should have with me per day? So excited! :)

Visa requirements states that you need to possess adequate finances for the duration of stay in Thailand which is 10,000 baht per person, 20,000 per family. That is more than enough, so nothing to worry about. Should spend no more than 1,000 baht a day.

You must at least go on the Island Trip to Phi Phi, Maya , James Bond and other Islands which will cost about 3000 baht each.
Phuket is expensive compared to other places – I have been ther 3 times and are budget was 7000 Bht a day for 2 of us but we were going out every evening eating drinking and clubbing. You will need at least 5000 Bht a day .
    Have a wonderful time

It depends where you want to stay, what you want to do? and if you like to drink alcohol.
For some 2000 baht a day and less would be enough, for others 5000 baht.
    It depends

Evidently this depends on what you’re going to do. Some activities cost a bunch of money, others almost nothing… Quality, not quantity! But my guess is that these activties will cost around what you pay for them back home. As far as I know its only the food and sex that is much cheaper in Thailand.

Hi, i would take £150 for each person for the 5 days, it will give you a nice safety net in case you need it, it’s about the equivalent of 7500 thai baht, approximately 5000 thai baht to £100

PLEASE stay at home in America for your holiday. We need the money more than those Asians.

  7. Alex says:

Cost of living in phuket about 5,000 baht per person including food, some entertain and sight seeing.

It’s not necessary to take any cash with you actually. There’s an abundance of ATM machines in Thailand and you can withdraw what you need when you need it. All Thai banks charge 150 Baht to withdraw any amount, so it’s better to withdraw the maximum which is 20,000 Baht if you use any Bangkok Bank ATMs, or 15,000 from any of the others.

To use a Thai ATM, insert your card, set the language to English and punch in your pincode. You can then choose from the set amounts on offer i.e. 5,000, 10,000 etc., or type in your own amount. Once you’ve confirmed the transaction, the money will appear first, so don’t forget to wait for your bankcard afterwards.

Since your flights and accommodation is covered, then a healthy amount would be 2 – 5000 Baht a day, although you could spend A LOT less than this if necessary. Thai food from markets is very cheap, shopping is generally value for money when buying local made odds and sods. Drinks in the bars should set you back approx 70 Baht a drink and excursions/trips vary depending on what they involve – budget about 500 – 3000 Baht a trip/excursion to allow for everything.

    Anyway have a great trip.
